Good Muslim Must Be A Model For
Others: Good actions and Akhlaq
(manners)

The presence of
Muslims and Islam on the surface of
the earth is a great blessing for the
humanity and the entire Universe as
long as those Muslims adhere to the
real teachings of Islam. The Muslims
themselves would become successful
bringing along with them such
blessings for the benefit of other
fellow creations of Allah.
It was seen in history recorded and
documented and finally attested in the
time of Prophet and his Companions
that they were dearly loved by
everyone showing sincere real
affection for those people due to
their good actions and Akhlaq
(manners) throughout the World. Alas
what we found today is unfortunately
the opposite.
The truth has to be told Muslims of
today instead of being loved like the
companions are despised or hated.
Unlike us the companions who did not
bother much about material worldly
possessions they used to give others
what they possessed but for us is the
opposite.
Therefore it is not the fault of Islam
our Deen on the contrary we should
blame the so called ambassadors of
Islam who themselves are not following
the teachings of the Prophet. Everyone
is astonished wondering what is
happening to the Muslims all over the
World supposed to be the Models
leading the entire humanity to the
right path have themselves lost the
way treading in unknown uncomfortable
path trying to find their way out of
this mess.
Sinking in utter disgrace and
humiliation all over the World as seen
by everyone Muslims and non –Muslims
and the enemies of Islam have got a
weapon and other means of distracting
others away from the teachings of
Rasulullah (S.A.W).
So the question is there any way out?
Yes of course on the condition only if
we go back to the teachings of our
beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and
his companions. Majority of the
Muslims we see today on the surface of
the earth are albeit not true models
of Islam and the Muslims. They are
either not practicing Islam instead
following the ways of others so
completely deviated from the teachings
of the Prophet.
So due to ignorance the Non-Muslims
use them as an excuse thinking them as
models while in actual fact they are
not models to anyone either Muslims or
Non Muslims alike. They are corrupt
themselves and helping to spread
corruption and mischief and the
Non-Muslims sadly could not
differentiate between the two.
As for others who sincerely want
demonstrate the practical teachings of
the Prophet to the rest of humanity
possess no( hikmah) wisdom of
conveying the right message. Instead
they have gone to the extreme though I
don’t want use the word making them a
source of deviant group thus scaring
those good hearted souls that wanted
to come closer to the teachings of the
Prophet but due to what they see they
turn away from the real teachings.
So instead of bringing peace to the
entire humanity as practically
demonstrated by the Prophet and his
companions sent as a Mercy to the
whole Universe the Muslims of today
are treading different path leading to
destruction and completely opposite.
There is chaos almost everywhere
leading to a kind of blame game
between the Muslims and Non-Muslims
with each other pin pointing accusing
finger to one another thereby finding
fault of the other.
Anyhow it is not too late we are all
at fault the Muslims and the
Non-Muslims alike. We all know what is
happening so there is no need to
recap. All we can give advice is for
the Muslims to return to the real
teachings of the Prophet so as to
attract the Mercy of Allah making them
real models on the surface of the
earth. The Non-Muslims should try to
be fair and just to the oppressed all
over the World as taught by all the
Prophets such as Moses and Jesus.
This would create trust harmony love
and affection spreading social justice
binding different people and
communities as loved by the Creator.
As Allah says have Mercy for those on
the earth the One in the Sky would
have Mercy on you.
Let us remind ourselves about the
famous Hadis quoted by Imam Muslim as
reported by one of the famous
Companion of the Prophet Abu Zarr
Ghiffari in which he related what
Allah revealed to His Prophet thus: “O
My Slaves I have forbidden oppression
for Myself and have made it forbidden
amongst you so do not oppress one
another. O My Slaves all of you are
astray except for those I have guided
so seek guidance of Me I shall guide
you” up to the end of the Hadith.
In the course of the Hadith the
Prophet reminded us that we all commit
sins day and night yet our Allah is
ever relenting so we should ask
forgiveness from Him as He would
forgive us. At the same time the
Hadith made mention thus: were the
first and the last of you human and
jinn be as pious as the most pious
person that would not increase
anything in His Kingdom.
So similarly if all of them humans and
jinn were to be as wicked as the most
unfortunate wicked heart it would not
decrease anything in Allah’s Kingdom.
To such an extent the Prophet gave the
example that if all of us human beings
and jinn were to rise in one place
requesting Allah to fulfil their
desires and He gives every person what
he or she requested that would not
decrease anything from the treasures
of Allah anything more than a needle
decreases when dip in a sea. At the
end of the Hadith the Prophet reminded
his followers what Allah says: “ O My
Slaves it is but your deeds that I
reckon up for you and then recompense
you for so let him who finds good
praise Allah and let him who finds
other than that blame no one but
himself”.
So this is a lesson for all of us
Muslims and Non-Muslims alike we
should work in harmony instead of
antagonising one another despite our
differences. We should recognise our
differences as created differently yet
we can learn from one another
respecting different views of our
fellow humanity.
For us Muslims if we really want be
successful we must go back to the
teachings of Rasulullah. Doing so
would help bring peace and
tranquillity that everyone is anxious
and longing to spread on the surface
of this earth. Amassing wealth and
other material possessions as seen in
our ever day life cannot bring peace
and real satisfaction on the contrary
only the Zikr of Allah can give such a
heart satisfaction. As noticed the
communities that live luxurious life
often lack seriousness unable to
withstand the misfortunes of life so
only Islam has the solution.
Mankind possesses both physical and
spiritual body that have been existing
time immemorial. He is inclined and
attracted more towards the physical
material body at the expense of the
spirit thereby feeding the physical
body only to satisfy the heart.
Unfortunately as he is ignorant the
more he left the spiritual body
unattended the more his condition
would deteriorate and there would be
no cure until he goes back to the main
source thus start feeding the
spiritual body as he feeds the
physical part.
Some of us although we are Muslims but
competing shoulder to shoulder in
amassing more material possession but
because we do not practice the Deen
the Non-Muslims are confused as they
cannot understand what is going on.
The Prophet unlike us today ensured
his companions received necessary
training thus avoiding unnecessary
indulgence in luxuries and material
comforts at the expense of the their
spiritual growth.
So how can we invite them towards this
Deen if we ourselves are not
practicing the teachings of the
Prophet? Allah says in His Holy Book
Do you command people to do the right
and forget yourself while you read the
Book don’t you have sense?
It is a shame we don’t follow the ways
of the Prophet this is why, Allah
apparently is not pleased with the
Ummah as He was pleased with the
Prophet and His Companions who became
models for the entire mankind. They
used to go everywhere and invited the
people who accepted their invitation
having seen their practical lives
which were exemplary.
Even though every Muslim is so eager
in seeing Islam kept spreading like
the time of the Prophet and His
Companions bringing peace and
tranquillity yet the opposite kept
spreading which is very unfortunate.
So the reason for this evil trend is
that we have left the ways of the
Prophet and unless and until we go
back there would be no solution to the
down turn of events as seen all over
the Muslim World.
Therefore it is incumbent upon all of
us to follow the Commandments of Allah
according to the ways of the Prophet
and He would protect us as narrated in
another Hadith. The word Muslim is not
only mere name of a person tribe or
Country as rightly pointed by Allah
about some people who said they
believed but Allah says “don’t say you
believe but say you submit, faith (Imaan)
has not yet entered your heart.
Similarly in this time the real Imaan
is not yet in our hearts despite our
claims we are (good) Muslims. It is
sad the Non-Muslims have doubts and
misgivings even misconception about
the teachings of Islam instead of
coming closer to us they are going
away further from us and it is not
their fault but is ours.
It is high time we woke up from the
slumber and went back to the real
teachings of the Prophet that would
help bring peace tranquillity and even
prosperity benefitting the entire
mankind both Muslims and Non-Muslim
alike. It is the same message given to
Abraham that helped raised his status
and all other Prophets as clearly
mentioned in the Quran in the Chapter
An-Am. “
We bestowed on him Isaac Jacob each of
them we guided and before him We
guided Noah and among his progeny
(were) David Solomon Job Joseph Moses
and Aaron. Thus do we reward those who
do good (deeds). And Zachariah and
John Jesus and Elias each one of them
was of the righteous. And Ishmael and
Elisha Jonah and Lot and each one of
them We preferred above the alamin
(mankind and jinn).
So also some of their fathers and
their progeny and their brothers, We
chose them and guided them to the
Straight Path. This is the Guidance of
Allah with which He guides whomsoever
He wills of His Slaves. Had they
joined others with Him (Allah) in
worship their good deeds would have
been in vain. They are those whom We
gave the Book ,Al-Hukm (Religious
laws) and Prophet-hood.
So therefore if these disbelieve
therein, then indeed We have entrusted
it to a people (as Companions of
Prophet Muhammad) who are not
disbelievers therein. So Deen
(Religion) is not our own vain desires
and wishful thinking but what Allah
revealed to all the Prophets including
Muhammad (S.A.W).
He was the last of them who came more
than 1400 years and demonstrated
practically and those who followed him
became successful in both life Duniya
and Akhira becoming best models to the
rest of mankind. If we look at our
situation today is completely the
opposite which is so sad. For us to
succeed like Sahabas (Companions) we
must go back to the real teachings of
the Prophet demonstrate it to the
whole mankind practically thus
becoming models attracting the Mercy
of Allah who would in turn give us
izza (respect) and success in both
this temporary abode and the Hereafter
like the Prophets and their
Companions.
The whole mankind is in need of Allah
Mercy especially at this our time
where the humanity has so much
advanced materially but spiritually is
the most backward. He is desperately
searching for peace and security for
himself against the onslaught of evil
everywhere which the Prophets and the
Companions had through their good
connection with their Creator.
It is one and the same Creator that
helped them and not different from the
One before thousands of years or now.
He is the same Allah who begets not
nor was He begotten the Creator of
Adam Abraham the Lord of Moses Jesus
Muhammad and his Companions He is the
same Lord if all of us turn to Him in
repentance He would definitely turn to
us with His forgiveness. It is we the
Muslims who claim to have known Him
but with little difference.
Unlike the Companions who practically
demonstrated that good way of life and
taught it to others wishing them what
they wished for themselves became
successful we are still struggling.
Therefore it is our responsibility to
learn and practice similar thing
practiced by the Companions at the
same time convey the message as
conveyed by them.
This would help us become samples
attracting the Mercy of Allah who
would in turn soften the hearts of the
entire humanity towards the goodness
brought by Rasulullah sent as Mercy to
the whole Universe. As they say action
speak louder than words so it is our
action that matters most not our words
as people are curiously watching our
behaviour. We conclude with the
sayings of the Prophet (S.A.W) to this
effect: “He who believes in Allah and
the last Day either speak good or keep
silent and let him who believes in
Allah and the Last Day be kind to his
neighbour and he who believes in Allah
and the Last Day should be generous to
his guest”.
Fear Allah wherever you are and follow
up a bad deed with a good one it will
wipe it out and behave well towards
people. Finally a man came to the
Noble Prophet and said : “ O Messenger
of Allah direct me to an act which if
I do would cause Allah to love me and
people to love me. He said renounce
the World Allah will love you and
renounce what people possess and they
will love you.” Allahu Akbar what a
simple concise but comprehensive
advice for all to see.
So anyone who wishes to please Allah
and looking forward to meeting Him
must do all his actions purely and
sincerely for the sake of Allah
without show.
At the same time must follow the ways
of the Prophet then Allah in turn
would be pleased with him/her like He
was pleased with the Companions of the
Prophet and they were pleased with
Him.
May Allah give us taufiq to be good
practicing Muslim whom when you see
him reminds you of Allah, his actions
reminds you of the Hereafter and when
he speaks your knowledge of Deen
increases.
