As
an international establishment working
chiefly in Africa and partly outside
Africa - as the needs may arise, AWQAF
Africa consists both continental and
national societies by aims and
activities, which coordinate with each
other, including voluntary communities
and social services
National
AWQAF Africa Societies (NAAS) branch
into Groups of Men, Women Wings, and
Youth Divisions.
National societies open regional
associations with knowledge and written
approval of ash Shura
Each
national society is headed by al Wali
(i.e. Administrator), while al Mandub
(i.e. Representative) administers
national association
All
national societies are encouraged to
have junior branches, youth activities,
and more importantly women divisions
separated from - but managed together
with - men.
Lady chief representative, as
Sayidah heads women wings.
Al mandubah represents and
supervises regional ladies associations
All
national societies in and out of the
African continent belong to AWQAF Africa
and its movements, made up of charitable
projects, voluntaries, and foundations.
Each national society conducts
humanitarian services according to its
country's needs under the tenets of
Islam.
All national societies operate
under the basic teachings of Islam with
primary principles of relief, supports,
and developments.
It also provides extensive
medical and health programmes,
educational and training schemes,
housing and camping services, emergency
and rescue works, and food and water
supplies.
National AWQAF Africa Societies
cooperate internationally through their
continental federation, which has its
(past) cradle in Damascus, Syria, its
(current) administration in London -
movable, the United Kingdom, and its
(future) headquarters in Abuja, the
Federal Capital Territories of Nigeria -
also movable
AWQAF
Africa encourages its national societies
to work together, represents them in
international discussions, sanctions
their projects, and helps them develop
their programmes
AWQAF
Africa and its national societies work
for the genuine adherence to the
teachings of Islam, the teachings that
protect women, children, elderly, and
disable as well as provide for the
humane treatment of prisoners of war
AWQAF
Africa and its national societies hold
tight to the tenets of Islam at all
time, having its ash Shura as the
supreme and highest deliberative body in
every aspect.
Delegates from AWQAF Africa
branches, groups, and societies of the
continent's Muslim nations represent in
ash Shura
The
representatives also attend an AWQAF
Africa international conference to
discuss the projects and effects of
their international works, the unity of
the Muslim nations, and solutions to
continental humanitarian problems
involving cooperation between AWQAF
Africa, other organizations, and
governments or their agencies etc...
The
Administrative City manages the
day-to-day activities of AWQAF Africa.
Its main task is to provide
services for officials, organs, dealers,
volunteers, donors, and agencies of
AWQAF Africa
The
Administration is made up of al Amir
(i.e. President) and ash Shura (i.e.
council), assisted by administrators’
clerks, secretaries, and specialists
Al
Amir has broader authority than any
other official of AWQAF Africa.
Al Amir is the head and chief
executive of ash Shura and oversees its
reports on the establishment's problems
and accomplishments.
Al Amir serves in the name of all
national societies and agencies of AWQAF
Africa, who accept the making of and
cooperate with the office
Al
Amir advises national societies and uses
the influence of the office to help
solve their internal and external
problems. Al Amir accedes its post by
acceptance of ash Shura, measures of
contribution, and most importantly by
virtues of Islamic knowledge
Ash
Shura with administrative services from
staffs of members of ash Shura are
responsible for decision making of AWQAF
Africa.
Ash Shura has as many members as
it needs.
Numbers of ash Shura are set up
from time to time depending on the needs
and decisions of al Amir who is a
permanent member of the council
Ash
Shura serves in the name of all national
societies and agencies of AWQAF Africa,
who accept the making of and cooperate
with the sessions.
Ash Shura decides what action
AWQAF Africa should take to achieve its
aims, projects, and effects
Ash
Shura meetings are called to consider
any situation serious enough to lead to
disasters, conflicts, or sufferings.
Such a situation is brought to
the council's attention by al Amir, a
member or members of ash Shura - and in
certain cases - an activist or activists
of AWQAF Africa societies, or any major
or senior officials of AWQAF Africa.
The members of ash Shura make
themselves available to attend the
meetings as soon as they are called
Ash
Shura makes its own rules for conducting
its meetings.
National societies that have no
national in ash Shura - and even other
Muslim organizations that are charities
or non-charities - are invited to take
part in debates that affect the Muslims
inside and outside Africa.
But these participants have no
control over any decision taken by the
council
Ash
Shura appoints as many national or
continental committees as necessary.
Numbers of committees are set up
from time to time depending on
requirements of works as commissioned by
ash Shura
Ash
Shura also creates and cooperates with
numbers of liaisons and offices
throughout the continent and - if
necessary - beyond
Some
staffs of members of ash Shura of AWQAF
Africa work in the Cradle City, Damascus
and in the Headquarter City, Abuja -
though general management functions are
conducted in the Administrative City,
London
The
staffs of members of ash Shura are
instructed to choose as Safir i.e. envoy
and al Wakil i.e. official from as many
different national societies as
possible.
As Safir and al Wakil are able
and professional people such as
accountants, translators, writers,
lawyers, pharmacists, medical
specialists, clerics, and teachers
As
Safir and al Wakil work with and for al
Amir and ash Shura directly and
indirectly and are not allowed to take
orders, assignments, or judgements from
any national society without the
knowledge and written approval of al Amir or the council
AWQAF
Africa is the first international
African Muslim relief organization with
a major organ devoted to improving the
way people live through its Bayt ul maal
(i.e. treasury for financial and social
services) which uses funds and assets in
works to encourage peace and prosperity,
higher standard of living, better
health, spiritual uplift, and
educational cooperation under the
guidelines of Islamic teachings of
adopting Bayt ul maal (i.e. Islamic
Treasury)

support, and development - AWQAF
Africa’s the humanitarian projects and
its activities in lines with the tenets
of Islam
Secretary
of Bayt ul maal with the approval of al
Amir and Ash Shura then raises,
authorizes, or accepts funds for these
projects.
Secretary of Bayt ul maal is
responsible for working with the
specialized agencies in addition to
making recommendations to the council
with cooperation of staffs of members of
ash Shura, communicating recommendations
and instructions
Secretary

transactions with authotity of Al Amir.
The treasury liaise with ash
Shura, who executes solutions to
problems faced by the African Muslims
such as poverty, drought, famine,
literacy, poor quality and shortage of
food and water supply, dangerous working
conditions, national and tribal
conflicts, and natural disaster
Secretary
Bayt ul maal enters into contracts with
financial and political agencies on
behalf of AWQAF Africa.
Some of the agencies are larger
or older than AWQAF Africa itself.
Secreatry of Bayt ul maal has the
responsibility of helping ash Shura and
the specialized agencies work together
effectively
Each
specialized agency of AWQAF Africa is
assigned, contracted, or appointed by
ash Shura to deal with any problem
involving the cooperation of other
agencies and similar bodies with the
organization
Any
other body or agency with its
organization, structures, and rules
signs an agreement with AWQAF Africa as
an international body organized and
regulated by the laws of Islam.
Specialized agencies of AWQAF
Africa consider recommendations made by
ash Shura and report back on steps taken
to carry out assignments, contracts, or
transactions harmonizing with Islamic
values
Agencies
of AWQAF Africa deal directly or
indirectly with governmental agencies
and non-Muslim societies to help Muslim
communities and neighbours that coexist
peacefully with Muslim communities
Other
agencies or societies may apply to AWQAF
Africa for financial supports in form of
donations, interest free loans,
educational assistance like literatures
and trainings, and/or other types of
aids to benefit, especially, the Muslim
communities...
