Puppet Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad
Resigns In Occupied Kashmir: Struggle
against Indian occupation to continue |
| |
July 8, 2008
In occupied Kashmir, the puppet Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad
has resigned from his office on Monday. The puppet Chief
Minister refused to face the vote of no confidence in the
so-called assembly and instead decided to resign.
Azad went to the Governor, N N Vohra to submit his resignation
after he delivered a speech in the assembly.
"I will not face the vote of no confidence," Azad told the
House, which was specially convened after key alliance partner
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pulled out of the Congress-led
administration.
Struggle against Indian occupation to continue
In occupied Kashmir, senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali
Gilani has emphasised that the resistance against Indian
occupation does not end with the revocation of the order of
transferring Kashmiris’ land to non-Kashmiris but will continue
till last Indian trooper leaves the territory.
Addressing a large public gathering in Handwara, Syed Ali Gilani
said that India is occupying Kashmiris’ land in the garb of
Sadhbavana operation adding that the people of Kashmir will not
allow Indian nefarious designs to succeed.
Referring to the supply blockade of essentials to Kashmir valley
by Hindu organisations, he said that Kashmiris would find
alternative routes if the extremist forces continue to stop the
supply.
Asking people to stay away from polls, Syed Ali Gilani said that
these so-called elections were aimed at strengthening
illegitimate occupation of India in the territory. He also
stressed the need of greater unity among Kashmiris saying that
through this way they would achieve their ultimate goal of right
to self-determination. People on the occasion raised
full-throated pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans.Hindu extremists targeting Kashmiris in
Jammu
In occupied Kashmir, terror unleashed by the activists of
Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena along the Jammu-Srinagar
Highway continue to haunt thousands of people stranded in Jammu.
Reports pouring in from various areas revealed that Kashmiri
vehicles are being targeted in Udhampur, Rembel, Chenani and Kud
areas and hundreds of people have been thrashed by the Hindu
extremists, since last one week.
A local news agency quoted sources as saying that none of the
vehicle carrying registration number from any part of Kashmir
was being allowed by the police to move from Kud towards Jammu
and from Nagrota towards Kashmir.
The non-locals, stranded in Jammu, have been suffering
immensely as most of them are now running out of the money they
had. “I have been waiting for last one week but no vehicle is
moving towards Kashmir fearing attack at Udhampur”, Ghulam
Rasool of Dooru said adding, “We are four persons sharing one
room but each of us is now running short of money”.
“At various places the Shiv Sena activists patrol the Highway
so as to ensure that no Kashmir bound vehicle passes through
Udhampur”, sources said. The situation is similar for the
stranded passengers belonging to Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban |
