01 April 2009 RIYADH: Second Deputy Premier and
Minister of Interior Prince Naif yesterday emphasized
Saudi Arabia’s solid policies of moderation,
noninterference and mutual respect in foreign
relations.
Speaking to Islamic scholars, businessmen and
tribal leaders who came to greet him on the occasion
of his new appointment, Prince Naif noted the
Kingdom’s vision for development and modernization.
“Our Islamic faith teaches the need to acquire power
and knowledge and to compete with one another in doing
good things, and protect the life and rights of
people,” he said.
Prince Naif, who was appointed second deputy
premier last Friday, highlighted the strong relations
enjoyed by Saudi Arabia with other countries and
Riyadh’s efforts to further strengthen these ties.
He also referred to Saudi Arabia’s efforts in
serving the two holy mosques and pilgrims as well as
its strong support for Arab and Islamic causes. “The
Kingdom is also working to promote world peace and
stability, and fighting crime, extremism and
terrorism,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted Prince Naif
as saying. |
