26 March 2009 Somalia — Sheik Yusuf Mohamed Siad
known as Indho Ade, a prominent Islamist leader
accused strongly on Thursday members of Hizbul Islam
group which said on Wednesday they sacked him from the
party.
Hizbul Islam, a coalition of Islamist insurgent
groups against the Somali government, split into
groups recently after members including Indho Ade said
they dismissed Sheik Omar Iman their former leader of
Hizbul Islam.
Sheik Yusuf said the members they fired from the
party were mostly away from the county during the
two-year occupation of the Ethiopian troops in
Somalia.
"Sheik Omar Iman left the country when the
Ethiopians entered in Somalia and the Islamic Courts
Union collapsed, Sheik Hassan Mahdi went to Egypt when
the Ethiopians came and he prepared Doctorate degree
there. Abdifitah Ali Mohamed, Abdulahi Ali Hashi ,Muse
Abdi Aral, and Yasiin Baynax all went away when the
Ethiopian soldiers invaded in to the country and came
back when they pulled out of the country, so I tell
the Somalis that the children of those guys are not in
the country and it is for the people to prevent from
those who want to wage wars in the city," said Indho
Ade.
He added that those members want to force the
mujahideen to fight again for their special interests.
Parliamentarians Call for to
Endorse Clerics' Edicts
Members of the Somali parliament called for
Thursday to endorse the edicts by the Somali clerics
and also demanded to stop the deployment of foreign
troops in Somalia.
The deputy speaker of the Somali parliament, Osman
Elmi Boqore called for to support the edicts of the
clerics and their efforts for peace.
The clerics had previously stipulated that violence
should be stopped to give the government time to
implement the Islamic sharia law in Somalia and to ask
AU forces to withdraw from the country.
MP Suleyman Mohamed Ibrahim says "the foreign
troops can not bring peace in to the country and it is
good to take the advice of the clerics,"
The deputy speaker indicated that a committee of
clerics was appointed to prepare the proposal of the
Islamic law to bring before the legislature and
approve it. |
