Mugabe’s Government Declares Zimbabwe Is Not For Charity

Harare — GOVERNMENT is moving
forward and will not wait for investment from
countries that are not ready to engage it, Deputy
Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara has said.
Speaking during a courtesy call by Korean Ambassador
to Zimbabwe Mr Jae-hack Oh at his Munhumutapa offices,
DPM Mutambara said Government would engage all
countries interested in working with Zimbabwe.
"We are not for charity but would want to deal in
economic issues. We are a profitable country and we
have the resources for all that are interested to
invest in Zimbabwe," he said.
He said Zimbabwe would need to work with other
developed nations as it crafts its 30-year economic
plan.
"We would want Korean companies to invest in Zimbabwe
so that our countries produce gadgets that would be
sold in the region," he said.
He said the Korean government could also assist
Zimbabwe in improving education through universities
and other institutes of technological education.
Ambassador Jae-hack expressed confidence in the
inclusive Government to rebrand and revitalise the
economy in a short period of time.
"I am going to invite, during my tenure of office,
businesspeople and other leaders from my country to
come to Zimbabwe," he said.
The Korean government would be interested in going
into business ventures with Zimbabweans in such
sectors as mining, agriculture and tourism among
others, he said.
Zimbabwe and Korea this year commemorate 15 years of
co-operation and a Korean delegation of cultural
groups would be visiting the country.
