8 April 2009 The number of detainees on the Day
of Rage has reached 37 detainees of students and youth
activists until the time of writing and the number is
expected to increase in the next few hours.
In Ain Shams University the number of detained
students has reached 9 students so far, among them:
Ahmed Abdel Monem Abul Fotouh, Ibrahim Hindawy, Manour
Nasser (MB Student), Ahmad Samir (Activist in the
Committee for Defending Students Right) and Mohamed
Hegazy.
In Sharqeya governorate, Al-Ghad Party activists
Mohamed Abdel Rhman and Mohammed Yousef were arrested,
while in Behera they arrested Ali Hossam Hussein
Younes "Damanhour" and Nagah Riyad "Kom Hamada" from
their homes.
It was decided that 12 of the detainees would be
transferred to the prosecution of Bandar Kafr Elsheikh
after being arrested on Saturday during a
demonstration in front of the Court’s Complex
protesting on the continued imprisonment of the two
students Sarah Rezq and Omnia Taha and detainees are:
Shams Awad El-Fakhakhry, Nour El-Din Hamdi, Ahmed
Mohamed El-Gheiti, Mohamed Abdel Tawab Elsayed, Ahmed
Atallah Fawwaz, Amr Abul Enen, Mahmoud Ibrahim, Medhat
Shaker, Mohamed Hemeda, Salem Sayed, Mohamed Awad and
Mohamed Hamasa.
As in Alexandria governorate, the decision of
detaining Mohamed Ramadan for 15 days was issued while
Tamer Said was released.
In Monoufeya governorate, Mamdouh Elnezamy
(Coordinator of Kefaya Movement) is going to be
transferred to the prosecution today, while the names
of the other four detainees from Monoufeya University
remain unknown.
In Fayoum governorate, Abdel Rahman Fares (one of 6
April Youth Movement’s Activists) was released, while
Islam Nagy one of the movement"s activists in Port
Said governorate was transferred to the prosecution on
Monday evening.
Sara Rezk and Omnia Taha, who are still detained
despite the issuance of a bailed release, should be
added to the number of detainees. |
