21 April 2009 Hamas Movement has opined that the
boycott of the UN-sponsored anti-racism conference on
the part of the USA and other western countries
constituted an evidence of their collusion with the
Hebrew state.
Fawzi Barhoum, the Movement's spokesman, said in a
press release on Monday that those countries had bowed
to the Zio-American pressures in order not to attend a
conference that would expose the Israeli racist
practices and Israel's declared goal of establishing a
Jewish, racist and fanatic state on the ruins of the
Palestinian people's rights.
The withdrawal of those countries from the Geneva
conference would provide a cover for the Zionist,
racist entity's "horrible crimes" against the
Palestinian women and children, Barhoum charged.
He added that the US stand in particular was in
contradiction with the new administration of president
Barack Obama's calls for peace and security and for
respecting human rights in the region.
He said that Washington's boycott of the conference
revealed that there was nothing new in the American
administration's biased stand in favor of the Israeli
occupation authority.
The Arab League Rejects The Racist Idea Of The
Jewish State
Dr. Amr Moussa, the secretary-general of the Arab
League, stated Monday that the Arab League rejects the
idea of the Jewish state, adding that this proposal is
racist and unacceptable.
In a press statement, Dr. Moussa expressed regret
that the US and some countries boycotted the second
Durban anti-racism conference, stressing that the
countries boycotting the conference should have been
working on stopping Israel's racist measures rather
than announcing their absence.
The Arab League head underlined that the Israeli
occupation has at first to declare its acceptance of
the establishment of a real independent Palestinian
state within the borders occupied in 1967, noting that
Israel's engagement in peace negotiations are a mere
deception used for media consumption.
He emphasized that the Arab side does not want to
waste time waiting for the approval of the Israeli
government to the establishment of two states, but
there must be an international position in this
regard, adding that the current situation of the peace
process became unacceptable because it turned into a
means of procrastination that enabled the Israeli
occupation to expand settlements and gave the world a
fake impression that Israel is working for peace.
In a related context, Arab member of the Knesset
Jamal Zahalka said, on the sidelines of a protest in
Geneva, that the racism must be defeated and not
appeased, adding that the problem in South Africa was
the apartheid system and the problem in the occupied
Palestinian lands is Zionism.
MP Zahalka underscored that the racism was defeated
in South Africa, but it still exists in Israel and
gets more rampant everyday.
The Israeli lawmaker pointed that the Zionist
propaganda tried for decades to hide an important fact
that the regime in Israel is racist and colonial.
He added that Israel's racist foreign minister
Avigdor Lieberman, who called for killing the Arab
Knesset members, bombing the Aswan dam in Egypt and
dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza, is now a partner in
the political decision-making in Israel. |
