ordered the detention of 13 MB leaders for 15 days on

nature.

Shalaby (Sharqeya).
For his part, Abdel Moneim Abdel Maqsoud (lawyer for
the MB) emphasized that the intention behind the case
is to undermine MB activities and to prevent it from
participating in public and political life based on
trumped up charges intended to divert the attention of
the public opinion from businessmen close to the
government who smuggle billions outside the country
and import corrupt wheat shipments.
He stressed that the charge of money laundry is the
irony, especially after an Exceptional Military Court
has acquitted the MB leaders of the same charge and
the seized publications are already in the market and
its possession by anyone is not a crime!
He added “it is illogical that a group which has 86
members in the Parliament and members of the governing
bodies of associations and teaching clubs in addition
to its strong presence in the Egyptian politics is
said to be banned”.
