20 May 2009 In occupied Kashmir, the illegally
detained senior leader of All Parties Hurriyet
Conference, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that the blood
of martyrs would not go waste but would definitely
bring positive results.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued from
Central Jail Srinagar said that the people of Kashmir
had given unprecedented sacrifices for securing their
right to self-determination and they would continue
their struggle till its logical end.
Paying rich tributes to Kashmiri martyrs
particularly Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and
Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, he said that the Kashmir
dispute had been internationalised due to the
sacrifices of such people. He said that tripartite
parleys were best solution to decades-old Kashmir
dispute.
The APHC leader said that Kashmiris would remember
the sacrifices of martyrs and would continue the
liberation struggle till its complete success. »
Demos against custodial
killing of civilian
Eidgah March will be held on Thursday to mark the
martyrdom anniversaries of prominent Hurriyet leaders,
Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani
Lone. The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said, the
March is aimed at paying tributes to the liberation
martyrs and conveying the message to the international
community that the Kashmiris reject periodical
elections in the occupied territory.
Addressing a seminar held in connection with the
Martyrdom Week at the APHC headquarters in Srinagar,
today, Hurriyet leaders said that the best solution of
the Kashmir dispute could be brought about by holding
a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. The speakers
included the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Agha
Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi and Nayeem Ahmed Khan. Earlier,
a large number of people took Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a
procession from Mirwaiz Manzil to the APHC
headquarters.
On the other hand, Indian police personnel
subjected demonstrators to heavy lathi charge and
excessive tear-gassing at Aloochi Bagh in Srinagar,
today. They were protesting against the recent killing
of a civilian in the custody of Special Operation
Group. Senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali
Gilani, who continued to remain under house arrest,
strongly denounced the killing. »
Hurriyet leaders ask India to
show seriousness
The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and senior
Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani have said
that they are not averse to resolve the Kashmir
dispute through negotiations but the talks process
should be meaningful and result-oriented.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar
said, the Congress party does not have a good past
record regarding the dialogue process and India needs
to be serious to resolve the dispute. Syed Ali Gilani
in his statement said that India should repeal all
black laws, pull out its troops from the occupied
territory and release all Kashmiri detainees to show
its sincerity.
On the other hand, the second day of Martyrdom
Week, today, was marked with a seminar at Islamia High
School and a motorcycle rally in Srinagar.
Participants of the rally raised anti-India and
pro-liberation slogans. The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz
Umar Farooq and other speakers at the seminar paid
rich tributes to the services of the martyred leaders,
Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani
Lone for the Kashmir cause.
Indian troops, in their fresh act of state
terrorism, martyred one innocent Kashmiri youth at
Salota in Doda. People took to the streets in the area
to protest against the killing. Several persons were
injured when Indian troops subjected anti-India
demonstrators to heavy lathi-charge and excessive
tear-gassing in the interior localities of Srinagar.
