4 May 2009 MILAN, (PIC)--
Sheikh Ra'ed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement
in the 1948 occupied Palestine, has said that the
Israeli occupation authority was intensifying its
judaization campaign of occupied Jerusalem, citing the
construction of more than 100 synagogues around the
holy Aqsa Mosque.
He said during a
Friday Khutba (sermon) in Milan, Italy, that the IOA
was leveling Palestinian homes surrounding the Aqsa,
noting that the excavations under the holy site over
the past 40 years had led to a network of tunnels that
included a synagogue and a Hebrew museum.
Sheikh Salah
underlined that the IOA had declared the intention to
build the biggest Jewish synagogue in the world on
part of the Aqsa Mosques specifically on the western
part of the Mosque in a blatant challenge to all
Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims.
He urged the
Palestinian parties negotiating in Cairo to take into
consideration the dangers engulfing occupied Jerusalem
and the Aqsa Mosque and to prioritize the issue of the
Aqsa and judaization of Jerusalem over any other
issue.
The Islamic leader
finally said that Gaza had defeated the "Zionist
project", and hoped that this victory would harbinger
good omens for the Aqsa Mosque.
The siege
will not divert our attention from the onslaught on
Jerusalem
The Palestinian Prime
Minister, Ismail Haneyya, said that the effects of the
Israeli imposed siege on the Gaza Strip will not
divert the attention of the people of Gaza from what
is happening in occupied Jerusalem in terms of
Judization, home demolition and settlement activity.
He said during the
Friday sermon at the Qassam Mosque in the Nusairat
refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip: "the
occupation of Jerusalem is illegitimate and all that
is based on illegitimacy is illegitimate," calling on
the Arab and Islamic nations to shoulder their
responsibilities towards Jerusalem and defend it
against the Zionist schemes which target the first
Qibla and the third holiest shrine for the Muslims.
Haneyya added that the
war on Gaza aimed to topple the government and change
the security and political equation but failed by the
Grace of Allah and the steadfastness of our people and
their resistance.
He also said that a
number of parties aim to deny the Palestinian people
the fruit of their steadfastness by keeping the
border-crossings closed and keeping the siege in
place. |
