Hariri Thanked Almustaqbal And ‘March 14’: Let Us Celebrate A Refined Victory
8 June 2009
Leader of Almustaqbal parliament’s bloc MP Saad Hariri declared Sunday that the results of the parliamentary elections came in favor of the ‘March 14’ pro-government coalition and that the Lebanese have proven their insistence on freedom and democracy. “Congratulations to Lebanon and democracy, congratulations to freedom and to each and every citizen who waited for long hours today before polling stations to cast his vote in the ballot”, he said. Hariri said he is certain that “martyr Prime Minister Rafic Hariri and all the martyrs of freedom in Lebanon perceive this panorama from heaven as they are reassured that Lebanon is fine and that the Lebanese are good enough.” Hariri stressed that there is no loser and no winner in the elections. “The only winner is democracy and the biggest winner is Lebanon”, he said. MP Hariri thanked the members of Almustaqbal movement’s electoral machine who worked day and night to attain this “honorable result”. “I thank all of our allies in all the regions for their efforts and their devotion, and I thank all administrations and official services, the Lebanese army and the internal security forces and media organizations and the Lebanese, Arab, and International NGOs who contributed to attaining the biggest victory in our nationalistic life.” “I thank each and every one who voted in favor of ‘March 14’s lists and I salute everyone who voted in favor of the rivalry lists as well because they contributed to devoting democracy and freedoms in Lebanon.” Hariri addressed the followers of the ‘March 8’ opposition alliance saying “our duty is to hear your voices first and above all to hear the true and honest will of the Lebanese to hold hands and join our efforts to get back together to working seriously for Lebanon and for the economy and the job opportunities and for establishing security networks and for health, education and culture; To work together for a strong, independent and sovereign state with its military and security forces and its institutions and judiciary”. “The Lebanese realize that the road is long and rough and that the risks threatening Lebanon and its economy and security at the regional and international level are real and obvious dangers” said the son of Martyr PM Rafic Hariri. Hariri called the followers of Almustaqbal movement and all the movements of ‘March 14’ coalition to “celebrate their victory in a civilized way”, warning them not to be dragged into any incitement or security violation which aims at distorting this victorious day.” Hariri called the partisans to remove all political pictures, banners, and slogans starting from Monday.
