Etisalat Nigeria: The Africa’s Vodafone In Expansion, Opening Centre in Kano

Kano — Etisalat Nigeria has opened a customer care centre in Kano as part of the company's network expansion programme. Speaking at the opening ceremony for the event, the chairman of Etisalat Nigeria Hakeem Bello Osagie, said the centre is another milestone recorded in the short lifespan of the communication company which formally began commercial operation in October last year. He said the company's remarkable performance in quality network, service delivery and product innovation has made it to receive recognition in terms of awards, endorsements and performance rating. "Etisalat Nigeria made history by being the first Nigerian telecom company to give its customers the opportunity to reserve their personalized numbers for the purpose of living their lifestyle with the number they have chosen. Indeed backed by Etisalat's legendary track record of quality and performance we are committed to building Etisalat Nigeria into a world class service provider, known for its standards of quality, operational performance and efficiency and admired for its record of consistently creating value for customers," he said. he chairman said the customer care centre was established in Kano to bring the company's services closer to its customers in a state renowned for its cultural heritage. This effort, he said, was meant to create more jobs for residents of the state who are going to be gainfully employed in the company. "Our commitment to building partnership that provide quality network, world class service and innovative products and empowerment of the people of Nigeria and indeed Kano State through job creation is a testament to our belief that future of Nigeria is in our hands," he said. He said the company offered scholarships to 13 students of Bayero University Kano through its corporate social responsibility initiative, saying the scholarship is the company's own contribution to the development of Kano. In his remarks, the company's chief executive officer, Mr Steven Evans said the company believes in the empowerment of the people in the environment where it operates. He said the company's presence in Kano will enrich the local economy with the provision of over 400 jobs in the Etisalat family. According to him, the company's customer care specialists have gone through the initial training in the tradition of Etisalat to adequately prepare them for the job. Meanwhile, the Etisalat Nigeria has been rated the best GSM service provider by the Nigerian communications commission for the month of March in its quality of service audit.
