Hamas: Resistance Against Occupation Will Continue: QB To Retaliate To Zionist Aggression
7 June 2009
RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Hamas Movement issued a statement in the West Bank on Saturday mourning the death of Yousef Akel, 37, who was killed by the Israeli occupation forces on Friday while taking part in a peaceful anti-wall demonstration. Hamas said that the blood of Akel will not be wasted but would rather continue to ignite resistance against occupation. The continuation of resistance is the Movement's main option to confront "Zionist crimes". For its part, the national initiative party on Saturday denounced the IOF killing of Akel, who is the father of four children. It accused the IOF of deliberately targeting Akel while taking part in a peaceful march. The party said that the world community should stand up to the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and should impose sanctions on Israel to force it to end its daily crimes against the Palestinians. The Israeli quelling of peaceful demonstrations would not deter the Palestinian people and their supporters from continuing in their struggle against the Israeli racist policies. Abu Obaida: QB is ready and would retaliate to IOF aggression Abu Obaida, the spokesperson of the Qassam Brigades, said that the group would retaliate to the IOF troops' aggressions on the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the West Bank in the way and at the time it deems suitable. Abu Obaida confirmed, during a live session at the Palestine Network Forum, the readiness of the QB to block any possible IOF military adventure in Gaza Strip, underlining that all options were open for the Palestinian people to defend themselves. He also explained that the QB leadership was the authorized party that decided when to act and when to halt action based on the circumstances on the ground, underscoring that the QB follows properly planned tactics and strategy in dealing with the Zionist enemy. "We won't let any IOF aggression pass unpunished, and the blood of the innocent Palestinian people won't be wasted, but we know when and how to hit the Zionist enemy", he confirmed, stressing that the QB leadership didn’t rule out carrying out human bombings inside the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands. He also highlighted the coordination among the various Palestinian resistance factions during the Israeli war on Gaza, emphasizing that such coordination would be enhanced further, adding that the QB was striving hard to develop their combat capabilities to repel any renewed Israeli invasion of the Strip. Furthermore, Abu Obaida slammed the security coordination between the PA security forces in the West Bank and the Israeli security departments against the Palestinian resistance, describing such unsolicited coordination as "high treason". He warned, "If the security forces of [Mahmoud] Abbas didn’t stop exterminating the Palestinian resistance and Palestinian fighters in the West Bank, then the Palestinian national dialogue would fail", calling on elements of the PA security forces in the West Bank to correct their compass, and to return to the Palestinian mainstream. Finally, Abu Obaida urged the Egyptian leadership to release Ayman Nofal, one of the QB leaders in Gaza Strip, who had been in detention for more than one year now, stressing that Nofal must be returned to his wife and children. Meanwhile, hundreds of Palestinian citizens bade fare-well to Yousef Akel Shror, 37, who was fatally shot by an Israeli sniper during a demonstration against the apartheid, separation wall in Ni'lin village, to the west of Ramallah city. Shror is known to be a supporter of Hamas, and he was recently released from Israeli jails but the IOF troops didn’t give him the chance to stay more with his family after the long years he spent in the jail. Hamas mourned the martyr who was wrapped in the green banner of Hamas although the PA security forces attempted to remove it but failed as hundreds of Palestinian people waved Palestinian flags and chanted pro-Hamas slogans urging the QB to retaliate. The IOF troops confessed to the deliberate killing of Shror.
