Somalia’s Islamist Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a Imposes Curfew to Guriel Town

Guriel — Forces from Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a organization have imposed a night curfew to Guriel town in central Somalia, officials said on Monday. Ahlu sunna Waljama'a controls several towns in central Somalia. Officials said they imposed the curfew to tighten the security of the town. Ahlu sunna Waljama'a forces with loudspeakers could be seen in the town who were telling the people to take the orders of the administration of the town. It is not known why they have imposed the curfew, but there has been fighting between Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a Islamist organization and Harakat Al-Shabab Mujahideen in Galgadud region in central Somalia. Islamists Call for Aid Agencies to Help Feeble People in Bardere Town The Islamic administration in Bardere town in southern Somalia has called for the international aid agencies to help the feeble people in the town, official told shabelle radio on Sunday. Mohamed Hassan Arah, head of social affairs of the Islamic administration in Bardere town in Gedo region said that they are calling for the international aid agencies to open offices in the town and start helping the weak people in the town specially the side of the health care which they are suffering greatly. Mr. Arah told Shabelle radio as he returned from Dinsor district in Bay region where he took a woman that the security forces of Bardhere town injured seriously and could not be cured in Bardhere and meetings that he had with some of the welfare agencies in Dinsor district and called for the international aid agencies to come and help the people in town. The head of the public affairs of the Islamic administration in Bardere town said that their administration is committed to welcome everybody that wants to help the people in the town promising that they will also work them. The statement of the Islamic administration in Bardere town comes as many people in the town are suffering from diseases and started traveling to the other neighboring towns which they can get health care.
