Libyan President Muamar Ghaddafi Visiting Gambian Semi-Islamist Leader Arrival in Banjul

The Daily Observer (Banjul) - According Gambian national media, Colonel Brother Muamar Gaddafi, the head of state and leader of the Al-Fatah Revolution of Libya, who is also the 'King of African Traditional Kings' and current chairman of the African Union, last Tuesday afternoon, arrived in Banjul, as a special guest of the Gambian leader, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution. The Libyan leader was received at the Banjul International Airport by his brother and counterpart, Professor Jammeh, accompanied by the vice president and minister of Women's Affairs - Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy, speaker of the National Assembly - Elizabeth Renner, security chiefs, ministers and the secretary general and head of the Civil Service. Also present at the Banjul International Airport to welcome the Libyan leader were the chief justice of The Gambia - Emmanuel Agim, National Assembly members, members of the security forces, diplomats, students, women and cultural groups, Libyans residing in The Gambia and a cross section of the Gambian community. From the Banjul International Airport, the Libyan leader's motorcade, with him standing side by side with his brother and host, President Jammeh, drove through Banjulinding, Tabokoto, via Kairaba Avenue to his temporary residence in the Senegambia area. Gambians came out in their numbers, waving at the visiting Libyan leader and his host. The youths, women, children, students, and the green youths, among others, were all out to welcome the Libyan leader.
