Hamas Castigates PA For Holding Woman Hostage In Ransom For Her Husband
8 July 2009
GAZA, (PIC)-- The Hamas Movement on Monday castigated the PA security apparatuses in the West Bank for kidnapping the wife of prisoner Omar Al-Hanbali one day before his release from Israeli jails in order to pressure him to turn himself in immediately after the release, saying that this conduct transgressed all values and ethics in the Palestinian society. Hamas described the act of taking women hostage until their imprisoned relatives turn themselves in to the security apparatuses as meanness and depravity never seen before in the Palestinian community. Hamas underlined that such an act confirmed the treasonable role of these security apparatuses and strengthened convictions about the need for an immediate act to stop the PA crimes in the West Bank. Omamah website had reported that the PA security apparatuses in Nablus kidnapped Alaa Jarrar, the wife of Omar Al-Hanbali who is due to be released from Israeli administrative detention on Monday, and told her she would remain in custody until her husband surrenders himself after his release. In another context, MP Mushir Al-Masri, the secretary-general of Hamas parliamentary bloc, expressed regret for the return of the PA security apparatuses in the West Bank to renew the bank of targets in Gaza through recruiting new spy rings to prepare field reports on the security situation in Gaza before sending it to Israel via the PA in Ramallah. MP Masri affirmed that Israel and the PA resumed this work, after the Palestinian security apparatuses in Gaza had discovered many spy rings that sent information about targets in Gaza during the Israeli war. “After the failure of Fatah faction in all its options, it resorted to the military option, and it depends on the Zionist enemy in that because it feels powerless in the face of Hamas,” the lawmaker underscored. Liberation party accuses PA militia of kidnapping 416 of its cadres Dr. Musab Abu Arqoub, a senior official of the Islamic liberation party, said that the PA security apparatuses kidnapped 416 of its cadres in the West Bank, saying that most of those abductees were rounded up at the barriers established at the entrances to Palestinian cities. Dr. Arqoub noted that the abductees were traveling to attend a conference which was supposed to be held by the party last Saturday in Ramallah, adding that the security apparatuses also kidnapped many citizens who had nothing to do with the conference He said that most of the detainees were released on the same day except four Palestinian citizens affiliated with the party including one whose whereabouts are still unknown. In another related context, the Omamah website affiliated with Hamas reported that the PA security apparatuses kidnapped on Sunday five Hamas members including two university students from different West Bank areas. It said that those security apparatuses refused to release prisoner Naser Dabbous despite presence of a release decision issued by a court in Nablus.
