Renewed Detention And Transfer Of 11 Muslim Brotherhood Leaders

Qena’s Attorney General has overruled the renewal of detention for eleven MB leaders for a further fifteen days under investigation. Among those detained is Dr Mahmoud Hussein member of the MB executive bureau. The detainees were later transferred to Cairo. The remaining detainees included: Dr Mohamed Kamal (ENT Professor Asuit University) Seif El deen (Qena) Dr Ali Ezzeldeen Thabet (Professor Asuit University) Ammar Hassan Hanafy (Inspector Luxor"s Antiques) Khalaf Allah Bahnasawy(Dept of Education) Abd Allah Makhlouf (Employee at Kema Facory Sayed Abd Allah (Staff at Daawa Schools Sohag) and Gamal Ali Selim. The State security services had arrested the group on the 19th of June when they were in the company of Dr Khaled Alsayeh who was also among those arrested . Renewed detention of Dr Ashraf Abd El Ghafar The Supreme Court decided today to detain Dr Ashraf Abdel Ghafar, deputy chairman of the Doctor"s Syndicate for fifteen days after adding him to case 404 with Dr Abdel Moniem Aboul Fotouh. Accusations were similar and they repeated a similar version of previous allegations against other members. Dr Ashraf was detained by State Security forces at the Cairo International Airport on the 3rd of July upon his return from Turkey where he had been attending his son"s wedding. He was later arrested and added to Dr Aboul Fotouh"s case and transported to Al Marg Prison.
