War is being resulted to in order to resist political,
social, economic, marginalization, religious conflict,
dynastic succession like the Laurel Kabila and the incumbent
Joseph Kabila. Ongoing event in Libya may result to Saiful-Islam
Ghadafi becoming the president like the case of senior Bush
and the war monger junior.
Acquisition of territory diplomatically called invasion by the
western media is being witnessed across the globe spear headed
by the super power countries. Invasion is carried out to usurp
resources of fertile land through the use of forces like the
case of Iraq oil, Uranium in Sudan, Blood diamond in Liberia,
murdering and kidnapping of oil workers in Niger- Delta of
Nigeria, extermination of those willing to establish God's
rule on earth like the ongoing events in Afghanistan, Algeria
against Islamic salvation front, Somalia and the union of
Islamic court, Iranian revolution of 1979 lead by Ayatollah
Khomeini.
Other area is war for acquisition of land mainly related to
the necessity of providing food for nation like the US waged
war against the native America for land on which to grow their
crops and graze their cattle. The same is being witnessed on
the black nation territory putting to mind the sadly slave
trade in Africa, the relocation of Bakassi peninsula to
Cameroun, the future proposed demarcation of Sudan, the
ongoing killing and bombing of Palestinians by the Zionist
state with support from their alias.
The strategy and tactics in these wars are totally ungodly,
unislamic, inhuman, unsocial and result in economic depression
and political instability like the case of southern Lebanon,
Afghanistan, Iraq and many places to come as events unfolds.
The launching of offensive war in order to detect the enemy is
also barbaric in nature like the ongoing chase of the shadow
called war on terrorist which also include the killing and
bombing of innocents civilians like what is witnessed in
Lebanon and Afghanistan.
In aide to the War the Super power has defined various methods
like the following to further cause permanent damage to the
psyche of the people that live in such an environment through:
Psychological warfare: this is the psychological and
ideological propaganda employed by the west to control the mid
and thinking of the people through the print media and mass
media and brainwashing techniques are real agents used in this
regards.
Chemical and Biological warfare
This are the most harmful and deadly materials developed by
the super power countries as weapons of war which contain
poisonous chemical substance and effusing micro organisms that
create damages even to unborn babies and people inhaling them,
and contact with skin like the case of WWI(1914-1918),
Iran-Iraq war(1981-1990), Japan- Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The
year 2006 has also witness dropping of cluster bombs on the
land of Southern Lebanon.
The international agreements, protocols, and convention has
failed woefully by the enactor of such i.e. the super power
nations to curb against the use of deadly materials in war.
Why accusing Islam and Muslims?
The 9th century BC saw great empires like the Assyrian and the
Persian. The latter were the warrior people who control most
of the western Asia through the used of terror as a weapon by
sacking cities and killing all prisoners. Greece and Rome has
one time or the other use terror to submerge other nation and
sates, the war of French revolution lead by Napoleon
Bonaparte, the American civil war (1861-1865), world war 1 and
2 (1931-1945), Vietnam war which claimed up to millions of
Vietnamese, 1.5 million to 2 million Lao and Cambodians who
were drawn into the war and nearly 58,000 Americans lost their
lives.
War places:
Somalia, Rwanda, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, Yugoslavia, Northern
Ireland, Herzegovina. War between Bosnians and sorbs. Sudan
Darfur region, Chad Sudan rebel violence, Ethiopian-Eritrean
war, Uganda lord resistance Army, central African republic,
D.R.Congo, Sierra Leone, Liberia civil war, Ivory coast,
Nigeria Biafra Civil War and some part of South Africa.
The unlawful detention at Guantanomo Cuba prison by the Bush
Administration as a fight against terrorism also need to put
to record. The Russia economy fight against the E U through
cutting of gas supply, the Afghan-Russia war, IETA bombing in
Spain. The American foreign policy and the manipulation of the
UN Security Council, the treat against Iran, the North Korea
Nuclear program, Pakistan-Indian fight against Kashmir and the
sad event in Chechnya are all witnessed. The events in all
these places are abnormal to the call of Islam which is
“Peace”
Ideological warfare has been cooked against Muslims making the
whole globe turned against Islam as a support to terrorist act
forgetting the facts that terrorism was cooked by the Zionist
puppet region against Islam. The protocol of the eldest of the
Zion has revealed the plot against the Goyin (non-Jew) as
people that will be dominated across their profession.
Law of War in Islam
The rules which have been formed by Islam (Our Civilization)
are the injunctions of Allah and His prophet (blessings of
Allah and peace be upon him) which are followed by Muslims in
all circumstances, irrespective of the behaviors of the enemy.
It should be an open eye to us in the research above how the
West has being handling of wars and the creations of various
weaponry tools and what Islam recognizes for any enemy. An
erudite Islamic Scholar, Sayid Abu Ala Mawdudi sated the
followings:
The Rights of Non-Combatants
Islam has drawn a clear distinction between combatants and
non-combatants in any enemy country. As far as the
non-combatant population is concerned 3/4 women, children, the
old bad the infirm, 3/4 the instructions of the Prophet are as
follows: "Do not kill any old person, any child or any
woman" (Abu Dawoo). "Do not kill the monks in
monasteries" and "Do not kill the people who are
sitting in the places of worship". (Musnad of Ibn Hanbal)
During a war, the Prophet saw the corpse of a woman lying on
the ground and observed: "she was not fighting. How then
came she to be killed?" From this statement of the
Prophet, the exegetics and jurists have drawn the principle
that those who are non-combatants should not be killed during
or after a war.
The Rights of Combatants
Now let us see what rights Islam has conferred on the
combatants.
1. Torture by fire: In the hadith, there is a saying of the
Prophet that: "Punishment by fire does not behoove anyone
except the Master if the fire". (Abu Dawood). The
injunction deduced from this saying is that the adversary
should not be burnt alive.
2. Protection of the wounded: "Do not attack a wounded
person" said the Prophet. This means that wounded
soldiers who are not fit to fight; not actually fighting
should not be attacked.
3. Prisoners of war should not be slain: no prisoner should be
put to the sword"3/4 a very clear and unequivocal
instruction given by the prophet.
4. No one should be tied to be killed: "the prophet has
prohibited the killing of anyone who is tied or is in
captivity.
5. No looting and destruction in the enemy's country: Muslims
have been instructed by the prophet not to pillage or plunder
or destroy residential areas like what is been seeing in Iraq,
Lebanon, Afghanistan, nor harm the property of anyone not
fighting. It has been narrated in the Hadith; "the
prophet has prohibited the believers from loot and
plunder" (Bukhari, Abu Dawood. His injunction is :
"the loot is no more lawful than the carrion" (AbuDawood).
Abu Bakre Siddiq used to tell soldiers on their way to war;
"Do not destroy the villages and towns, do not spoil the
cultivated fields and gardens, and do not slaughter the
cattle’s."
Booty of war from the battle ground is altogether different.
It consists of the wealth; provisions and equipment captured
from the camps and military headquarters of the combatant
armies and may legitimately be appropriated.
6. Sanctity of property: Muslims have been prohibited from
taking anything from the general public of a conquered country
without paying for it. If the Muslim army occupies an area of
the enemy country, it does not have the to use the things
belonging to the people without their consent. If the army
needs anything, it should be purchased from the local
population or they should obtain permission from the owners.
AbuBakr Siddeeq used to tell Muslim armies being dispatched to
the battle-front that they should not even use the milk of the
cattle without the permission of the owners.
7. Sanctity of a dead body: Islam has categorically prohibited
its followers from mutilating the corpses of their enemies,as
was practiced in Arabia before the advent of Islam. It is said
in the Hadith: "The Prophet has prohibited us from
mutilating the corpses of the enemies"(Bukhari
AbuDawood.)The occasion on which this order was given is
highly instructive.In the battle of Uhud, the disbelievers
mutilated thr bodies of the muslims who had fallen on the
battlefield by cutting off their ears and noses and threading
them together to put round their necks as trophies of war.The
stomach of Hamza,the uncle of the prophet was ripped open by
the Quraysh and his liver was taken out and chewed by Hind,
the wife of Abusufyan, the leader of the Makkan army.The
muslims were naturally enraged by this horrible sight.But the
prophet asked his followers not to mete out similar treatment
to the dead bodies of the enemies.This great example of
forbearance and restraint should be sufficient to convince any
reasonable man that Islam really is the religion sent down by
the creator of the universe;if Islam allowed human emotions
free rein,this horrible sight on the battlefield of Uhud would
have provoked the prophet to order his followers to mutilate
the bodies of their enemy in the same manner.
8 .Return of corpses of the enemy: In the battle of Ahzab a
renowned enemy warrior was killed and his body fell into the
trench which the Muslims had dug for the defense of Madina.
The unbelievers presented ten thousand Dinars to the prophet
and requested that the dead body of their fallen warrior be
handed over to them. The prophet replied:” I do not sell
dead bodies. You can take away the corpse of your fallen
comrade.'
9. Prohibiton of breach treaties: Islam has strictly
prohibited treachery. One of the instructions that the prophet
used to give to Muslim warrior when sending them to the
battlefront was:” Do not be guilty of breach of faith.”
This order has been repeated in the Holy Quran and the Hadith
again and again. There is a famous incident in the peace
treaty of Hudaibiyyah when after the settlement of the terms
of the treaty, Abu Jandal, the son of the emissary of the
unbelievers who had negotiated the treaty with the Muslims,
came bound and bloodstained to the Muslim camp crying for
help. The prophet told him:' Since the terms of the treaty
have been settled, we are not in a position to help you. You
should go back with your father. God will provide you with
some other opportunity to escape this persecution."
The entire Muslim army was deeply touched and grieved at the
plight of Abu Jandal and many of them were moved to tears. But
when the Prophet declared "we cannot break the agreement,
"not a single person came forward to help the unfortunate
prisoner; so the unbelievers forcibly dragged him back to
Makkah. This is an unparallel example of the observance of the
terms of agreement by Muslims; Islamic history can show many
similar examples.
10.Rules about declaration of war: It has been laid down in
the Holy Quran: If you apprehend breach of treaty from a
people, then openly throw the treaty at their
faces"(8:58).In this verse, Muslims have been prohibited
from opening hostilities against their enemies without
properly declaring war against them, unless, of course the
adversary has already started the aggression. Present-day
'international law' has also laid down that hostilities should
not be started without declaration of war, but since this is a
man-made rule, it is often disregarded .Muslim laws ,on the
other hand, have been framed by Allah and may not be
disregarded.
Hostilities towards Muslims and Islam.
The London bombing like the perpetrators of similar attacks in
Madrid, New York, Tunisia, Kenya-Tanzania U S embassies
attacks, Turkey, Casablanca, Riyadh U S Embassy , Bali in
Indonesia, Pakistan-India train attacks, Egypt, Somalia and
most dramatically Iraq, believed they were heeding bin Laden's
call for global jihad. Also, proponents of this view consider
the War on Terrorism to be an "attack on Islam and
Muslims ". Therefore, the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan is
considered to be an example of such. The 2003 Invasion of Iraq
is also considered as such. The occupation of the Palestinians
land by the Israelis for a good part of the 20th Century is
also regarded as such an attack by some, the plan for the
Darfur region of Sudan is also an example and NOW “the BIG
Question is what do we call Mr. Bush Senior and Junior, Tony
Blair and the trauma Mr. Sharon?” The naming of Al Qaeda and
HAMAS as a “Terrorists Organization” is underserved and
unaccepted to all Muslims while the Super-power themselves are
more hazardous and perilous than the said groups. The
consequent of the above mentioned attacks were launched on
Muslim nations only in defense of aggression claimed carried
out by a very small portion of Muslims in protest against the
killing and maiming of Palestinians.
Targets of Operations: Any serious Islamic group’s
advocating the reform of Islam and complete Islamiazation of
their land and nation through the use of Sharia are now
subjected to their prey as unfitable and unwanted ideology
that must never exits while they are making the unlawful
lawful. Al-Qaeda, Taliban, Ba'athist Iraq, Ba'ath Loyalists,
Iraqi insurgency, Hezbollah Lebanon, Waziristan Pakistan,I
slamic Courts Union, Mahdi Army founded by the Iraqi Shia
cleric Muqtada al-Sadr Jemaah Islamiyah Indonesia, Singapore,
Brunei, Malaysia, Abu Sayyaf in the region of Philippine,
Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Horn of Africa
bordering Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Uganda
and Sudan has been marked as area of insurgency of terrorist
breeding nations. There are many trouble spots around the
world which also cover area of their targeted operations like
Muslims vs. Jews in "Palestine," Muslims vs. Hindus
in Kashmir, Muslims vs. Christians in Africa, Muslims vs.
Buddhists in Thailand, Muslims vs. Russians in the Caucasus,
etc
Other obvious examples include; Algeria which is wracked by
bitter fighting between Islamic freedom fighters and the
military with death toll numbering 100,000 over a ten year
period! Nigeria is in the midst of a war between Muslims and
Christian’s .The Miss Universe Pageant has equally
contributed to the inner pains of the Muslims over the Kaduna
Sango-Kataf. The ensuing riots in Kaduna left 220 dead and 400
wounded. A civil war rages in the Sudan between Muslims in the
North against the Christians in the south.
Pondering all on this odds alongside Islam and Muslims, it is
not justifiable to associate violence with Islam since Islam
itself is “PEACE” and it has laid down the proper conduct
of war and peace and not the war of selfish desire for wealth
and control of territory that the west are taking us into.
