No. 666 I have Come To Despise the “Christian Right” In
America

I’ll admit it–I can’t stand them. Never thought the
day would come, given the fact that I am (A) a
Christian and (B) as right-wing as you can get, but it
has nonetheless.
I guess that makes me a “Self-hating Christian” or
something like that? I don’t know.
In my own defense however, take a gander at the
picture above of the billboard along a highway in
Missouri. It replaced one before it warning that the
“Communist-Socialist Obama-Nation” is “coming for
you”. In poorly-disguised tones, the new one is
advocating going to war against the government.
Don’t get me wrong. I happen to agree with Jefferson
who said the tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time with revolution. Revolution– especially
when evil becomes the dominant power–is not just a
good thing, but a necessary thing.
It’s the stupidity-saturated hypocrisy I can’t stand.
Where was this fervor, patriotism and love of country
during 8 years of “Dubbya”? Where was this fear of a
tyrannical government and it’s over-reaching powers
threatening to rob Americans of their God-given rights
when the “former” alcoholic/drug addict was stinking
the place up with his policies, all of which carried
kosher stamp on them reading “Made In Israel“? Where
was this concern over us “keeping our money” and
“starving the beast” when he allowed spies from Israel
to yank his chain in getting 2 wars started that have
now bankrupted this nation? Anybody from the Christian
right biting their nails anxiously during 8 years of
war under GB when all this was taking place, right
under their very noses?
Heavens-to-Betsy, no. That was ‘good’ use of
taxpayers’ money, invading and destroying 2 countries
that never attacked America, killing close to 2
million, creating 4 million refugees and polluting the
air, land and water in the region for the next 4
billion years with thousands of tons of
highly-radioactive depleted uranium. Being “spied”
upon by the government was necessary then, because
there were “terrists” comin’ to “getcha” and a whole
lot more…
I knew something didn’t smell right when I went to
church recently (after having spent quite a bit of
time avoiding the place) and noticed the mood had
changed from apathetical to maniacal. By the amount of
frantic political talk taking place–both from the
pulpit and within the pews–you’d have thought that Old
Scratch himself had just taken up residence at 1600
Pennsylvania Avenue. Mind you, these were the same
people–sheppard and flock alike–who simply reacted to
any previous discussions concerning the political
health of the country under the Bush presidency from
concerned citizens such as yours truly with
barely-polite blank stares and responses that carried
the unmistakable aroma of “BFD” all over them.
And then, all the sudden, literally in the span of
just a few hours, instead of one white-skinned
‘right-wing’ lunatic being replaced with his twin, the
country turns ‘Demicrat’ and America is going to hell
in a handbasket. One day the face of God–smiling on
America as it were–turns into a cosmic frown and a
dark moral cloud descends upon the country like never
before and threatening to destroy everything. Now it’s
high-time for “Annie, git yur gun’ and to start blowin’
the place up as if we were the great great grandkids
of men such as Sammy Adams, Ethan Allen and the rest.
“God is grievously offended” they tell us. “A
militantly pro-abortion/anti ‘family values’ president
with lax moral standards has taken the wheel and NOW
is the time for all good men to come to the aid of
their country…”
“Family values“…How perfectly nauseating.
Not a peep from them when Bush destroyed Iraq and as
part of the ‘reconstruction’ process opened abortion
clinics in every locale. Dittos with bringing hardcore
pornography to the local theaters in the interests of
breaking down the moral cohesion of that nation or of
forcing recently-made widows–many of them mothers with
small children–to turn to prostitution so they could
feed their children in a country devastated by George
Bush’s war. How about the “family values” practiced at
Abu Ghraib when American GIs (working in tandem with
Israel’s Mossad) were sodomizing Iraqi males as young
as 12 and filming it? Have they seen the pictures of
the children born to Iraqi and Afghani mothers with
heads the size of pumpkins and eyes the size of tennis
balls and with their guts born outside their bodies as
a result of having been conceived and gestated inside
a radioactive womb, courtesy of Uncle Sam and Old Aunt
Israel? As they decry the slaughter of the unborn (as
all humane persons should) are there any tears to cry
for THESE children? Were they crapping their
collective pants over the loss of our civil rights
when abominations such as the Patriot Act were being
passed under the direction of Zionist lobby groups and
when Muslims were being denied their rights under the
artificially-induced Islamo-phobia of the ‘W’ years?
We all know the answers to these questions, so there
is no need to go through the rigmarole. As if their
gag-reflexes had been surgically-removed during the
Bush years and then reversed the night Obama became
president, members of the ‘Christian” right have now
suddenly ‘found Jesus’ again and see monsters
everywhere that differ from the previous ones only in
their party affiliation.
And yet, they wonder why Christianity and conservative
values “get no respect” these days when folks such as
these carry on in such contradictory, hypocritical
ways…Have they not considered the old line from their
heavenly commander in chief that “whatsoever you sow
also shall you reap” and that “those who live by the
sword shall die by the sword” and when–before being
taken off and murdered by the very same Zionistas for
whom the Christian right finds itself so willing to go
to war today–He asked out loud whether there would be
“any faith” left on earth when He returned?
Hell, after watching the last 9 years I don’t wonder
why Christians are so hated these days, but rather why
they’re not hated more.
