The Prophet Muhammad is Red Line…But We Must Be Wise

Judeo-Nazi settlers in Jerusalem have gone beyond the pale in recent days when two settlers appeared on TV, bad-mouthing the Prophet of Islam.

Unfortunately, the Israeli authorities did very little to restrain let alone punish these racist thugs who seemed hell-bent on setting the entire region on fire for their purpose of realizing their messianic myths.

More shocking still is the virtually total silence by and absence of any condemnation from the intellectual community, the rabbinic establishment and the media in Israel.

Jewish circles abroad have also been quite silent about the blasphemous and sacrilegious behavior of these Talmudic fanatics who harbor no respect for other people's beliefs and religious symbols.

We all know that Jewish circles hasten to mobilize the entire world to condemn anti-Semitic and even anti-Zionist incidents anywhere in the world.

However, when Jews are the villains, we see that Jewish circles play deaf and dumb and look the other way as if Jews had a special license to malign, besmirch, and vilify other peoples and their creeds and religious symbols.

This is simply unacceptable, to say the very least.

Muslims will not sit idle, watching their prophet being vilified and insulted by some Jewish fanatics here and there.

More to the point, peaceful coexistence between individuals and peoples is based on a golden rule called mutual respect. Hence, the Jewish community all over the world can't expect to find respect among Muslims if they remain indifferent to Jewish Islamophobia.

Some Jewish apologists might argue that we are actually talking about few extremists who in no way represent the majority of Israeli Jews let alone Jews in general.

This might be true. However, extremists don't have to be a majority in order to wreak havoc and stalk the flames of violence and war.

Muslims in occupied Palestine have behaved correctly by refusing to be dragged into violence by these provocations. But the continuation of calm cannot be taken for granted, especially if Jewish provocations continued.

In fact, no other community under the sun has exercised such an exemplary civility and self-restraint in the face of such brazen provocations.

In the ordinary order of things, when the religious symbols of a given people are insulted, the "natural" reaction is to insult the religious symbol of the insulting people.

But Muslims have never done that. I've never heard or seen any Muslim insult Jesus Christ or Moses, or Abraham or Isaac or any of the Israelite prophets, even as the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (may peace be upon him) was being brazenly insulted by some Christians and Jews.

Needless to say, this is a moral distinction of the highest order which the Muslim community ought to be credited for.

Hating Jews for being Jews is unacceptable and ought to be condemned in the strongest terms. Likewise, hating Muslims for being Muslims is unacceptable and to be condemned in the strongest terms.

Finally, level-headed people among Jews must move to isolate these genocidal elements amongst themselves who want to ignite a world war between Jews and Muslims.

Should they fail to act, I am afraid it would be soon too late. In the final analysis, these idiots are only carrying the sinister Christian-Zionist agenda of annihilating the majority of Jews for not converting to Christianity and worshiping Jesus instead of God.

A final word: The badmouthing by Jews and Christians of the Prophet and Muslims in general is predicted in the Quran. In Surat Ale-Imran, verse 186, we read: "You shall certainly be tried and tested in your wealth and properties and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you (Jews and Christians) and from those who ascribe partners to Allah, but if you persevere patiently, and become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2) then verily, that will be a determining factor in all affairs, and that is from the great matters, [which you must hold on with all your effort].

Hence, Muslims ought to refrain from giving these thugs the free publicity they crave for in order to carry out their evil designs.
