Evil Greed Obstacle To Tackle Corruption In Nigeria - Plague

Almost everyone from individuals to organizations either voluntary or public is trying their best to deal with corruption which is becoming the bane in our society. Few serious individuals are making strenuous effort to rid the society of this evil habit but unfortunately majority of the people is either deliberately becoming obstacles not interested or turning blind eyes due to sheer greed.
This reminds me of what Allah says in the Holy Quran:
Lo Allah will not change the condition of people unless they change what is in their hearts (i.e. by committing sins).
So therefore if God decided evil for society the leaders turn to evil and then His punishment would descend and there is no protection against His decision. Despite sincere effort by few individuals to tackle this infection called corruption yet the virus is unfortunately multiplying and spreading. If we do not tackle it the way it is spreading it would turn into plague which would be impossible to control.
Many of us or we can say majority of the people are even not sure as to whether this poses a serious challenge like real disease which needed to be tackled immediately. People can talk and give lectures on corruption as much as they want yet when evil desires coupled with greed unite together in a person only few people could avoid this sort of evil temptation of materialism.
The Hausa proverb “ kowa ya sami rana sai yayi shanya When it is sunny one can spread the clothes given the opportunity. We have seen people who were so critical about others regards to corruption but unfortunately when they have entered the corridors and tasted power they become so evil and corrupt beyond imagination.
As they said power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely given the opportunity they can show they are covetous and greedy due to the love of material wealth. We have seen some governors that have drained the whole treasury yet they claim innocence and unfortunately making strenuous effort to reclaim their immunity so they cannot be tried before Court of Law or the Graft Commission set to deal with such corrupt leaders.
The most annoying thing most of the leaders are not fit to be in the position they find themselves but due to sheer greed and sycophancy they are being patronized by their sycophant greedy followers who are immersed in the share and distribution of the unlawful loot which many consider as lawful.
The EFCC which is trying to bring the culprits to book is facing many obstacles administratively and judicially making the Anti-Corruption Graft becoming rather a toothless dog which can only bark without much biting. Some Governors in a bid to avoid being disgraced or embarrassed publicly deliberately go to the court to seek injunction against the charges levelled against them by the Anti Graft Commission.
It is rather sad seeing the ways the hands of the EFCC are tied unable to pursue the known corrupt officials. If the Government is serious of tackling corruption it must allow the EFCC to operate freely and pursue every suspected case to its final and logical conclusion. Anybody found guilty should be made to face the music. Mere mentioning of the four letters EFCC or Malam Ribadu as one brother mentions sends shivers to all known culprits.
Therefore Malam Ribadu and his EFCC should be strengthened and encouraged not curtailed or discouraged at the same time the people should make effort to change for the better. If we really want see progress in our society so that Allah can come to our aid we must change our intention and start doing good to others which is indirectly like helping ourselves by doing such good.
Unfortunately if we intend and decide to continue with the same evil path then alas evil would continue to haunt us and we cannot get out of that evil until we sincerely repent and change for the better then we will be seeing progress in our society.
