The Greeting Of Ramadan

All Praise is due to Allah for granting us life till Ramadan without being
sick, deprived, apostate or alterant to our religion. We praise Him for being
slaves owned by Him, He has the authority of reckoning us while we do not have
authority to reckon Him, we can take nothing but what He gave to us and we can
prevent ourselves from nothing but what He prevented us from. We praise Him
for His bounties as we praise Him for His afflictions. He deserves to be
praised as He says and better than what we say. All praise is due to Him, to
Him belong all the good and to Him all affairs return. All praises and thanks
be to Him (both) in the first (i.e. in this world) and in the last (i.e. in
the Hereafter). And for Him is the Decision, and to Him we will be returned.
I testify that there is no God except Allah alone with no partner, and I
testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, prayers and peace of Allah
be upon him and upon whoever followed his guidance till the Day of Judgment.
The month of Ramadan came to you with greetings add loftiness to its loftiness
and augustness to its augustness. It came with the hunger and thirst where you
see the food in the rich of your hand but you cannot eat it, and you find
thirst burns your body and the water is beside you but you cannot quench your
thirst. Sleeping covers your mind and plays with your eyelids but Ramadan
wakens you to eat Suhűr. It is a chain of patience and persistence.
How happy is the fasting person! How does he gain the reward of his thirst and
hunger from the One that does not miss the weigh of an atom: {That is because
they suffer neither thirst nor fatigue, nor hunger in the Cause of Allâh, nor
they take any step to raise the anger of disbelievers nor inflict any injury
upon an enemy but is written to their credit as a deed of righteousness.
Surely, Allâh wastes not the reward of the Muhsinűn.} [Surat At-Tawbah 9:120]

Ramadan came to make people return to their Lord and go to His Houses to fill
them with Tarawęh, remembrance of Allah and occupy them for observing worship
or acquiring knowledge. In any place you would find people in the Masjids
stand in one row (their feet and foreheads are lined on the earth with no
discrimination between rich or poor, inferior or superior, pauper or prince;
they all submit themselves to Allah) so He grants them honor over all people
because of this submission, if they performed it well with sincere intention.
O Muslims, it is not strange that Allah grants honor for whoever submits
himself to Him, and that whoever is an obedient servant to Allah, Allah makes
him a master among people. And whoever is with Allah Almighty by following His
legislations, Allah is with him by victory, success and forgiveness.
O servants of Allah, that is why our ancestors dominated the world, acquired
glory and established a state history did not know a state is better, nobler,
more generous or more just than it. So after the truth, what else can there
be, save error! They were not empty people; rather they were people would be
mentioned if Ramadan is mentioned and Ramadan would be mentioned if they are
mentioned. In Ramadan, Quran had been revealed upon the master of the
humankind (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him). By Allah, it is the life
of people at death and it is their light at darkness.
The month of victories and conquests:
In Ramadan, Allah Almighty granted victory to the believers in Badr, after
they were humble, and He called it 'the Day of criterion (between right and
wrong), the Day when the two forces met'. In Ramadan, Makkah had been given to
our Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him), so he purified it from
the filth of paganism and liberated it from all forces of retreat and
polytheism. In Ramadan, Allah Almighty granted Khalid ibn Al-Waleed victory in
Al-Yarmouk battle and granted victory to Sa'd in Al-Qadisiyyah battle, and
Tarek ibn Zyad in Andalusia at Likka River, and king Qutuz and Adh-Dhahir
Babers against the armies of the Mongols, so the root of the people who did
wrong was cut off. And all the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of
the 'Âlamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists). The same occurred in Hetteen
and Galolaa battles. There are a lot of victories in Ramadan, and this is
Ramadan that gives the Muslim who observes fast soundness of health beside
loftiness of spirit, the greatness of the self and the satisfaction of Allah
Almighty before and after anything.
The month of love and rapport:
O people; Ramadan is the month of love and rapport; so, you should be more
patient and talk better words and be away from dispute and evil. If you found
mistake from your family, you should tolerate it. If you found default, you
should correct it and be patient. If you were encountered with quarrel do not
engage in it; rather you should say 'I am a fasting person'. Otherwise, how
could the person, who does not like this, have the reward of fasting after
abstaining from eating the lawful food and having the unlawful food! The
Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: ''Whoever
does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his
leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting.)''
[Reported by Al-Bukhari]
«من لم يدع قول الزور والعمل به، فليس لله حاجةً في أن يدع طعامه وشرابه» رواه
البخاري
People in Ramadan:
People in Ramadan are different sitting in groups on the right and on the
left. Some people do not see Ramadan more than deprivation has no value and
worship there is nothing to justify it. Therefore, they intend to breakfast in
Ramadan, with or without giving publicity to this. Actually, those are fools
who became disbelievers after their belief then they increased their disbelief
and thought that fasting suppresses the freedom, which means going after the
whims and the desires and taking from them with no limits. O servants of
Allah, this is false freedom; actually, it is disorder in the first place,
then it is humble slavery to the body at the end.
O servants of Allah; in fact, the material freedom is the complete slavery,
while on the other hand slavery to Allah alone is the complete freedom. The
true Muslim has free soul even if the walls surrounded him or if he lived in
wasteland; he is free even if he had been chained with shackles and lashed. I
swear by Allah that this is the true freedom that fits the dignity of the
children of Adam and it is the opposite to the freedom of the ghosts and the
empty bodies {Is he whose breast Allâh has opened to Islâm, so that he is in
light from His Lord (as he who is a non-Muslim)? So woe to those whose hearts
are hardened against remembrance of Allâh! They are in plain error!} [Surat
Az-Zumar 39:22]
Transliteration: Afaman sharaha Allahu sadrahu lilislami fahuwa AAala

O servants of Allah, some people do not see Ramadan more than time of hunger
their abdomens do not afford and thirst their veins do not afford. Those
people had become sick from the name of Ramadan; its coming is hard for them
and it is like a chain ties their desires and whims. They fast it unwillingly.
Such people missed the pleasure of faith and the happiness of the righteous
people that is result to their submission to the Creator Who is exalted in His
orders and legislations: {And your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and
chooses: no choice have they (in any matter). Glorified be Allâh, and exalted
above all that they associate (as partners with Him).} [Surat Al-Qasas 28:68]
Transliteration: Warabbuka yakhluqu ma yashao wayakhtaru ma kana lahumu
alkhiyaratu subhana Allahi wataAAala AAammayushrikoona
We have nothing to do more than reminding such people, if they listen, by what
is mentioned by Ibn Rajab, the memorizer, who said that one of the boys of
Haron Ar-Rasheed was a fool boy disliked the coming of Ramadan. Then this boy
had epilepsy and used to suffer from epileptics attacks many times a day and
stayed in this case till he died before living till the coming of the next
Ramadan! O Allah, make our end good in all things and save us from the
humiliation of this worldly life and the punishment of the Hereafter.
Some people see Ramadan as annual season for the tables that are full with all
kinds of foods and consider it good opportunity to play and nightly
entertainment lasts till the dawn. The days of such people are like their
nights, their air is black and their eyelids are like the burning coal.
Ramadan came to such people in time of major catastrophes many Muslims suffer
from; however, they did not bother themselves by such things. The supreme kind
of kindness toward Ramadan, that such people may have, is to make it time for
the monotonous riddles, misleading propagandas or missed appointments because
of waiting the new vile movies and the suspicious series that throws sparks
(huge) as Al-Qasr (i.e. a fort or a huge log of wood) to burn the remains of
chastity and pudency or to condemn something deserves to be praised and
encouraged. Allah said the truth when He said: {And most of mankind will not
believe even if you desire it eagerly} [Surat Yusuf 12:103]
Transliteration: Wama aktharu alnnasi walaw harasta bimumineena
and {And how many a sign in the heavens and the earth they pass by, while they
are averse therefrom} [Surat Yusuf 12:105]

Those who take benefits from Ramadan:
On the other hand; there are some people, we praise Allah because they are
numerous, who see Ramadan as month for things are not like any of the above
mentioned things and deem far above all of these things. They see it as the
month of refinement by fearing Allah, the beautiful selflessness and the
generous patience; they knew that these are lessons learned by fast not in
schools or universities that educate the mind not the soul and develop
knowledge not strengthen the relationship with Allah, except those whom Allah
granted mercy to them.
O servants of Allah, those are the people who take benefits from Ramadan;
those are the people who find the delight of manhood in its days beside the
true freedom and patience in face of the hardships. Those and their likes are
the people to whom the gates of Paradise would be opened and the gates of
Hellfire would be closed. They are the people whom Ramadan does not end before
having their sins forgiven and their faults pardoned. They have self's
highness, noble goal and righteous hearts. Actually, those are the people by
whom the statuses could be better and the societies could be happy. How urgent
is the need of the Muslim Ummah to such people in each time and country!
The status of some young men in Ramadan:
The Muslim young men observe fast; however, most of them fast by just leaving
food and drink and live the month of Ramadan without occupying it by something
useful. Actually, their staying on this bad status emerges consequent problems
in the society and the family makes the roads and the alleys the only shelter
for them. They disturb a man and waken another and molest a girl and annoy
another; the roads are satanic table for them which teaches them each obscene
word and lewd deed. Their actions say, ''The devils of Ramadan had been
chained except them.''
O Muslims, we need something that makes their behavior good, elevates their
culture and limits their play and the loss of their times in vain affairs. We
want them to be sure that unemployment is death and that they are the people
who deserve most to be resurrected as broken people have nothing but
stagnation and loss.
The status of some women in Ramadan:
As for the Muslim woman, may Allah help you, she is the sister of the man;
rather she is half of the society and she gives birth to the second half.
Actually, she is like a complete society. Thereupon, would all her efforts in
Ramadan be dedicated to cook and spending the times in mastering the arts of
making foods and drinks or to going out the house with clothes that conceal
nothing except to spread infatuation! Would she indulge in these things and do
not care for whatever makes her close to her Lord by reciting the Holy Quran,
observing supererogatory prayer, giving charity or enjoining good and
forbidding evil in her house and her family that recognize her pioneer in
these matters! Did you forget that she is the teacher of the righteous
generations! Women's share for caring for the month of Ramadan is not less
than the share of men; the mothers of the believers used to share the Master
of the humankind (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) in his fast, prayer
at night and generosity.
Al-Bukhari reported in his Sahîh: ''When the last ten nights began Allah's
Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) kept awake at night (for
prayer and devotion) and wakened his family.''
«كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا دخل العشر شد مئزره، وأحيا ليله، وأيقظ أهله»
رواه البخاري
Also, 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (prayers and
peace of Allah be upon him): ''O Messenger of Allah, if I knew which night is
lailatul Qadr, what should I say in it?'' the Prophet said: ''Say, O Allah you
are Oft-forgiver Generous likes to forgive so forgive me.'' [Authenticated by
Al-Albani]
«عائشة -رضي الله تعالى عنه- تسائل النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم-: يا رسول الله!
أرأيت إن علمت أي ليلة ليلة القدر؛ ما أقول فيها؟ قال: قولي: اللهم إنك عفو كريم
تحب العفو فاعف عني» صححه الألباني
O Muslims, Show your efforts to Allah in this blessed month because there are
grants from Allah Almighty the one who is deprived from them is deprived from
much good. Also, take glad tiding from the saying of the Chosen Prophet
(prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) in the Qudsi Hadeeth: ''There is
penance for each deed, and fasting is for Me and I will reward for it.''
[Reported by Al-Bukhari]
«لكل عمل كفارة، والصوم لي وأنا أجزي به...» رواه البخاري
Generosity and charity in Ramadan:
Know that the month of Ramadan is the month of generosity and charity. The
Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) was the most
generous person and he was more generous in the month of Ramadan where he was
more generous than the wind that bears rain.
The good charity is one of the best generosities in Ramadan, whether it is
money, food or condolence. Actually, gathering between giving charity and
observing fasting is one of the things that facilitate entering Paradise. The
Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: ''In
Paradise there are chambers their outward could be seen from their inward and
their inward could be seen from their outward.'' A Bedouin stood and asked:
''O Prophet of Allah, to whom are these?'' The Prophet said: ''They are for
whoever spoke kindly, presents food, fasts continuously and prays to Allah at
night while people are asleep.'' [Declared good by Al-Albani]
«إن في الجنة لغرفًا يرى ظهورها من بطونها وبطونها من ظهورها، فقام إليه أعرابي،
فقال: لمن هي يا نبي الله؟ قال: هي لمن أطاب الكلام وأطعم الطعام وأدام الصيام
وصلى لله بالليل والناس نيام» حسنه الألباني
So, the Muslim should be kind toward his brothers in religion, wipe their
tears and end their hunger. Actually, the rich Muslim who does not feel that
he has duties toward the poor people has a hard heart that does not have
sympathy and is away from the mercy of Allah: {Surely, Allâh's Mercy is (ever)
near unto the good-doers} [Surat Al-A'râf 7:56]
Transliteration: inna rahmata Allahi qareebun mina almuhsineena
''The merciful (of people) will be treated in mercy by the Most Merciful, have
mercy upon who are on earth you will have mercy upon you from whom in the
heavens.'' [Reported by At-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani]
«الراحمون يرحمهم الرحمن، ارحموا من في الأرض يرحمكم من في السماء» رواه الترمذي
وصححه الألباني
O rich man, it is not magnanimity to enjoy yourself with decorated clothes
while your Muslim brother is harmed by the heat of the summer and the cold of
the winter. It is not magnanimity to prevent the support and hold your hands
out of misery while the needy people suffer much. O rich man, fear Allah and
move your eyelids and open your eyes to see the needy people in front of you.
Imagine that your weak children have been wronged by time and turned to be
poor have nothing to do: {And let those (executors and guardians) have the
same fear in their minds as they would have for their own, if they had left
weak offspring behind. So let them fear Allâh and speak right words.} [Surat
An-Nisâ4:9]

O Allah, accept from us the fasting and the prayer at night and make to us the
most abundant good fortune.
And prayers and peace of Allah be upon our prophet Muhammad and his family and
companions.
